For this 1 Minute Finger Tip, you need a circle of card, blue, green and red felt-tip pens, a pencil, some modelling clay, and some string.
But can you beat Fearne's studio record of 52 seconds? Don't forget you can time yourself on the exclusive Finger Tips timer!
Start by taking the circle of card and dividing it up into three equal sections, as you can see on the template below.
Colour it in with the felt-tip pens so that one section is green, one is blue, and one is red.

Next, make a hole in the centre of the circle.
Put modelling clay underneath the circle first, then push the pencil through to make the hole.
Now, thread string through the hole.
Thread it through once, and then back again, so that the string is double the thickness in the middle.
| |
Move the circle so that it's in the middle of the piece of string, and grip both ends firmly.
Give it a good spin, and once you've got some speed up, pull the string outwards and inwards alternately. This will make the card circle spin very fast.
Watch the colours merge and eventually become white.
It's a fantastic optical illusion created by the spinning colours!
