Everybody loves wearing jeans.

Customised jeans are all the rage at the moment, so here's how you can breathe new life into an old pair of yours, by jazzing them up with some of our ideas.
Fringing...
...beading...
and glitter are just some of the possibilites.

All done with fabric paint and no-sew glue.
Fabric paints are just perfect for this kind of customisation.

You can get them in loads of different colours, in bottles or in these squirty squeezy tubes.
The squeezy kind are best for outlining - they give a great bold line and they're very easy to use.

You can even get glittery and pearly ones!
And the paints that come in bottles are great for painting between the lines, like this.

Again, they come in loads of different colours and finishes.

(Do check the instructions on whichever paints you use, because some require ironing on to make them permanent!)
If you fancy having a go at customising your own jeans, it's a good idea to plan your design on paper first - just like real designers!

If you click here you can get a template that you can print off and draw onto.
This stuff is no-sew fabric glue.

It's perfect for adding whatever spangly or sparkly bits you like.
And it dries clear, too!
You could also fray your jeans, if you like.

Just unpick the seams and pull out all the threads.

It does take a fair bit of time but the resulting look is well worth the effort!
Here are a few other ideas.

You could hang strings of beads from the pockets or ankles.
Or why not stick patches on to create a mad mosaic effect?

The patches have just been stuck on with the no-sew fabric glue.
These spider web designs were made by cutting slits in the denim and folding back the flaps, and glueing them down.

There are small pieces of thin black fabric covering the holes, stuck on the inside.

They're decorated with fabric paints.
