How long have you presented Finger Tips? How did you land the job presenting Finger Tips?
This is my second series presenting on Finger Tips. I filmed the last series with Stephen and I was over the moon when they asked me back as I love working on the show. Originally, I sent my showreel and CV to producers who invited me to audition.
What's your favourite thing you've ever made on the show?
Last series it was definitely the CD decks but it’s very difficult to choose just one favourite make. I think the Tattoo tights are hilarious, I’m planning on making my own Bread Dangler Christmas decorations, I could use a Bed Pocket at home to tidy up the mess next to my bed and I may have to make myself a Retro Popcorn Holder… because I love popcorn (not because I’d have to eat 4 boxes of chocolates first J). But I think my most favourite make this series is the Swimming Pool Pistol Game… pipe cleaner hair on a poly ball head looks very funny!
Which makes do you like best?
The minute makes are the most fun to film as you don’t really know what’s going to happen or if you will finish the item in time. They make me laugh as our attempts, more often than not, look nothing like they’re supposed to!
So you obviously like Finger Tips now. What did you like to watch when you were a kid?
I always enjoyed watching Tony Hart in art programmes, ‘Take Hart’ with Morph was his brilliant art programme that was on years ago. My all time favourite was ‘Press Gang’, I wanted to have all of Lynda’s clothes and I used to fancy Spike! I also loved ‘Fraggle Rock’, ‘Rentaghost’ and ‘Play Away’.
What was your favourite subject as a kid?
I had three favourites… music, art and dance lessons – and they’re still my favourite things now!
What's your favourite item of clothing?
My wetsuit – does that count? I bought one last year and every time I’m in the sea body boarding or attempting to surf I’m at my happiest.
What’s your favourite meal?
Spaghetti Bolognese.
And your worst meal?
Liver and mushy peas! We used to have to eat both at Infant School and I haven’t liked them since.
Do you own a cuddly toy?
Yes, just one very precious toy, my teddy that I have had since I was born. My sister used to squash his face in… I still haven’t forgiven her for that!
What was the most challenging thing about presenting Finger Tips?
Trying to look happy and relaxed whilst remembering which camera to look at, not forgetting the script, holding the items so the cameras can see what you’re doing AND assembling the make so it looks beautiful all at the same time!
What was the best thing about working with Tim?
Tim is a perfect gentleman. He is very kind and generous and will always hold a door open for you. Thankfully he was great at Ankle Spinning, unlike me and as for his robotics – well where do I begin?!
What was the worst thing about working with Tim?
He’s too young to remember Rentaghost!
What did you want to be when you were five?
Either a dancer or a children’s television presenter.
A great Finger Tips screensaver for your computer.
